The other day, I put a post up entitled “[How to Become ‘Gifted’ at Learning Languages – You’re Never too Old](http://stujay.com/2010/08/11/how-to-become-gifted-at-learning-languages-youre-never-too-old/)”

This was an entry point for a lot of the things I will be doing in the future with this site.  I want to establish a base set of memory tools that we can refer to when learning new stuff.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been developing a whole new series of content that will be available to you via http://stujay.com that are indeed built on these memory ideas and will help you memorize mega amounts of new vocabulary items for a bunch of languages. Stay tuned for ‘Stu’s Power Vocab Builder’! This suite of clips, pdf files and flashcards will help you memorize core wordlists fast at your own pace … though once you get into the swing of things, it won’t be out of the question to be able to remember up to 100 words a day in the initial stages of your learning (more if you think you’re up to it!).

One of the tools that you will be able to use to support what we’re doing through my vocab building modules is Anki.

What is Anki?

If you haven’t used Anki before, it’s pretty cool as ONE of your tools in your language learning arsenal.  Anki is free flashcard platform where users can develop their own flashcards, test themselves, graph their progress and share their card-decks online.  ‘Anki’ is the Japanese pronunciation of 暗記 meaning ‘memorise’.

One of the cool things about Anki is that through the interface, you have access to 1000’s of sets of flashcard decks that other people have put together for 100’s of different languages.

You can download Anki Here: http://ichi2.net/anki/

Anki lets you set timing for your learning over 'new words per day'. As you go through, you can mark your confidence level with each new item and afterwards produce reports like this from Anki's menu.
So what are you waiting for? Go and [download Anki](http://ichi2.net/anki/) if you haven’t installed it already and drill yourself with these great cards!
